Collider Heroes - Season 1 Episode 40 Episodio 40
Welcome to Collider’s Heroes, hosted by Jon Schnepp, with John Campea and special guest Robert Meyer Burnett. We bring you the latest news about the Cinematic World of Heroes and Villains! On this episode of Collider’s Heroes (Tuesday Jan 12th, 2016) we discuss the following: Batman v Superman: with the upcoming special on DC’s world of both film and television airing next week, the world got another tv spot during the NFL playoffs. This trailer got it back to what we all want to see, two of comic books biggest iconic characters squaring off, in this crazy “batmobile vs superman” scene. We see exactly what Superman is made of, ie immovable super strenght, as the batmobile richochets off him and smashes across from him, and we then see that the Batman is not shaken in the least bit by this alien, asking him “So, do you bleed?”. Let’s talk about what Superman heard as he flew off into the night…”you will” Captain America Civil War:! Now the Russos have been doing press for Captain America Civil War, along with Frank Grillo who plays Crossbones in the film, and they have been hinting about several big emotional moments that will be hitting viewers upon it release in May. Grillo, while in New Orleans doing press at the Wizard World Convention, states his character is out for revenge, “I think he's out for one thing and one thing only and that's to revenge what's happened to him." The Russos teased about several funeral’s as well. Will they actually follow through and do the Civil War storyline? DC Small Screen heats up! So in upcoming episodes of the various DC comic series, Supergirl is going to be fighting a Bizarro version of herself and having “For the man who has everything” adapted, Legends of Tomorrow has been having isolated character trailers and showing 1975 time travel clips, and showing the future fully goateed Arrow and future Flash in upcoming episodes, Vixen is joining the Arrow Series, Flash and Supergirl are going to crossover. What is happening on the small screen! This is insanity!! Ryan Coogler is officially directing Marvel’s Black Panther! So it’s finally been announced that Creed director Ryan Coogler will indeed be directing the feature film starring Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther. The film is slated to come out Feb 18, 2018. What will be the focus of the standalone Black Panther feature? Minor Mutations 1 AoS spinoff “Marvel’s Most Wanted” gets a pilot 2 Daredevil Season 2 debuts March 18 3 Avengers: Infinity War will feature 67 Main Characters! 4 Preacher will premiere at SXSW 5 Chris Pine says he was never asked to be Green Lantern 6 Kevin Smith will be directing an episode of The Flash! Flashback - The Incredible Hulk (2008) This reboot feature happened after the luke warm reception to Ang Lee’s experimental “Hulk:, and this was the movie that was Marvel’s second film in the launch of their own new cinematic universe! Directed by Louis Leterrier, written by Zak Penn, and starring Edward Norton as Bruce Banner and the Incredible Hulk! This film had a great opening in Brazil, it had some Kirby inspired Hulk fighting the Military, and it had a blowout battle with Tim Roth as The Abomination. Let’s get angry and talk about the incredible Hulk! Spotlight: MadMan by Mike Allred This week’s spotlight is on Mike Allred’s MadMan. Now if you go back 40 episodes, you will see I called this out, when I was covering three books at a time, and I want to highlight this series in particular. Frank Einstein has amnesia, and only remembers bits of his past life as a spy. He gets into crazy adventures with robots, aliens, secret agents, with a fun 1960’s inspired artistic flavor that rings through in every panel. I could see this being made in a current world with a mad hip art design to every set, and having incredible psychedelic music to go along with it. Would this comic book series best make the translation to film or television, animated or live action? Twitter Questions
